The champion from each eligible division automatically qualifies for the National Collegiate Club Championship.
In men's competition, there is also a Division III National Championship limited to NCAA Division III institutions. Eligible divisions qualify their champion to attend this event.
Teams compete within their divisions to qualify for the CWPA Eastern Championship. Men's teams qualify four from each division. All women's teams qualify for the CWPA Eastern Championship.
The Eastern Champion automatically qualifies for the NCAA Championship.
The Women's Division III Championship is comprised of Division III CWPA teams which compete in a tournament separate from the Eastern Championship. These teams are ineligible to advance to the NCAA Championship through the league's automatic berth, but could advance based on an at-large bid.
All Division II and III men's teams qualify for the Division II and Division III CWPA Eastern Championships, if they wish to participate.
