CWPA Governance

Governance Structure

The CWPA has two levels of administration within its governance structure. The Board of Directors operates at the highest level and is responsible for the direction and vision of the organization including the budget and staff. The competitive issues specific to the various genders and classes of membership are handled by Governing Councils, one of which oversees the Northeast Water Polo Conference.

The CWPA includes institutions that sponsor water polo on both the club and varsity level. Within the varsity ranks, the men's teams are separated into two conferences: The Northeast Water Polo Conference and the Mid Atlantic Water Polo Conference. Although the Northeast Water Polo Conference has a separate set of Bylaws and Constitution, all teams fall under the umbrella of the Collegiate Water Polo Association administration.
