BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) has announced the selection of the University of California-Davis as host for the 2009 Women's National Collegiate Club Championship.

A member of the Sierra Pacific Division, Davis is the largest University of California state system campus and is located 15 miles from Sacramento and 73 miles from San Francisco.

"UC-Davis is excited to have been chosen for such an honor," states club president Kristina Forest.  " We have ten seniors this year, and I can not express how special it will be for those of us who will be graduating to finish up our collegiate water polo experience at Nationals on our home turf."

Davis, which entered the 2007 tournament in Gresham, Oregon, as the #1 team in the nation, finished third last season after capturing the Sierra Pacific Division.

More information on the tournament will be available online in the upcoming months
