No. 10 Michigan Set for Season Opening Home Invite

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 10-ranked University of Michigan water polo team will open the 2009 campaign by hosting the Michigan Kick-Off at Canham Natatorium on January 24-25.

The Wolverines will not ease into the new season, taking on three ranked teams in the first two days of play. No. 5-ranked California will pose the first challenge of the weekend on Saturday at 10:45 a.m., followed by Colorado State at 7:30 p.m. The Wolverines then host No 7-ranked San Jose State and No. 3-ranked UCLA on Sunday. The SJSU contest is set to start at 10:10 a.m. to precede the 2:30 p.m. showdown with the four-time defending national champion Bruins.
