Maryland Blog: Water Polo Duo Volunteers in Haiti

UNIVERSITY Park, Md. -- Sophomore Stephanie Ragheb (Miami Beach, Fla./Miami Country Day) and freshman Callan Rowe (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) of the University of Maryland women's water polo team attended a five-day medical mission to Haiti in November along with Stephanie's father, Dr. Ragheb, a pediatric neurosurgeon. Dr. Ragheb travels to Haiti multiple times a year to conduct surgeries on children with hydrocephalus. Hydrocephalus is a disease that children are born with, that causes the baby's head to swell, putting too much pressure on the brain.

The Terps water polo duo blogged about their experience in Haiti and posted a photo gallery on the Maryland webite, www.umterps.cstv.com
