Indiana's Jakie Kohli Named March 23 Western Division Rookie of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Indiana University's Jakie Kohli (Fr., Burnaby, British Columbia/Moscrop Secondary) netted four goals, seven assists, 10 steals and three kick-outs drawn to earn the March 23 Western Division Rookie of the Week award as the Hoosiers knocked off Brown University (9-8 W) and fell to No. 9 San Jose State University (9-6 L), No. 6 University of California (8-1 L), No. 5 San Diego State University (9-6 L) and No. 4 University of Hawaii (6-2 L) at the Aztec Invitational.
Against Brown, she tallied two goals, two assists and a steal as the Hoosiers downed the Bears thanks in part to her long-range skip shot marker which gave Indiana a three-goal lead in the fourth period.
She added a goal, two steals and a drawn kick-out versus Hawaii, three assists and two steals versus San Jose State and two kick-outs drawn with three steals against California. Versus San Diego State in the Hoosiers' tournament finale, she tacked on a goal, two assists and a pair of steals to her weekend totals.
