BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Hartwick College's Kirsten Hudson (Jr., Wellington, New Zealand/Sacred Heart) scored 15 goals, assisted on eight others and chipped in 10 steals to earn the March 2 Northern Division Player of the Week award for leading the No. 15-nationally ranked Hawks to a 4-0 record at the 2009 Elite Six Tournament at Bucknell University.
In a dominating weekend, she scored consistently and often racking up a hat-trick in a 9-7 win over No. 14 University of Michigan before racking-up a tournament high five goals in an 8-6 triumph over Princeton University.
Against No. 20 University of Maryland, she scored three times and picked up four assists to account for seven points in a 15-9 victory before wrapping up her weekend with four goals and two helpers in a 13-9 win.
Overall, she moved to second in points and goals in Hartwick history over the weekend as Hudson now has 238 goals and 144 assists for 382 points.
The award marks the third Player of the Week award for Hudson this year as she previously earned the honor on February 2 and 9.
A 2007 and 2008 American Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Association (ACWPC) All-America honorable mention and Northern Division Player of the Year honoree, she keeps adding to her list of accolades as Hudson earned 2007 and 2008 All-Northern Division and All-Eastern Championship first team honors,was named the 2007 CWPA Rookie of the Year and led Hartwick to the Eastern Championship title while earning the championship's Most Valuable Player award in 2007.
