CWPA Releases Amended 2010 Women's Heartland Division Schedule

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) has released an amended schedule of games for the now eight-team Women's National Collegiate Club Heartland Division. Competition will begin on February 27-28 at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa and run through the division championship tournament on April 10-11 at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

Following the season-opening 16-game tournament at Grinnell, the season will continue on March 6-7 at Saint Mary's University in Winona, Minnesota with an eight-game event.  Two weeks later, Rockwood Summit High School in Fenton, Missouri will be the site of a 10-game tournament which will wrap-up the regular season, establish the seedings for the championship and bring on the 12-game Heartland Division Championship at Iowa State.

The victor of the division will receive a berth to the National Collegiate Club Championship at the University of Arizona on April 23-25.

Consisting of Carleton College, Grinnell College, Illinois State University, Iowa State University, Knox College, Lindenwood University, St. Mary's University (Minn.) and Washington University (Mo.), the Heartland Division has been controlled by Carleton (2006, 2009) and Lindenwood (2007, 2008) over the past four seasons as the two teams have combined to win the last four titles.

Overall, four teams have reached the division title game during the past quartet of seasons with Grinnell and Iowa State reaching the division's final game in 2006 and 2007, respectively.
