Michigan's Kiki Golden Named February 22 Women's Varsity Western Division Defensive Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Kiki Golden (Fr., Danville, Calif./Monte Vista) of No. 5-nationally ranked the University of Michigan picked up her second Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) weekly award this week by earning notice as the February 22 Women's Varsity Western Division Defensive Player of the Week.
The January 25 Western Division Rookie of the Week, Golden remained true to her name shining for the Wolverines by grabbing 14 steals to key Michigan to wins against No. 12 Hartwick College (14-11 W), No. 20 Princeton University (13-10 W), Harvard University (13-3 W) and Wagner College (12-5 W) at the Princeton Invitational.
Currently leading the team in steals with 35 thefts to date, she highlighted her weekend of pilferage with seven steals against Harvard and four goals versus Hartwick to extend a career-long scoring streak to 12 games.
