BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University's Kelsey Campbell (Jr., Maple Ridge, B.C., Canada/Maple Ridge Secondary) was recently recognized by the Hoosiers' Department of Athletics with the 2010 Aline Robinson Mental Attitude Award presented to a female student-athlete who has distinguished herself in athletics and academics, and has displayed an outstanding mental attitude.
She started all 32 games for Indiana water polo during the 2010 season, recording 30 goals, 21 assists, and 34 steals to help lead the Hoosiers to a 21-11 overall record. The team earned a No. 12 ranking in the final Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Varsity Top 20 Poll after a runner-up finish at the CWPA Eastern Championship hosted by the University of Maryland.
Campbell finished the season with seven multi-goal performances, including six markers during a three game stretch at the Fluid Five. She collected the April 26 Western Division Defensive Player of the Week award after grabbing a career-high eight steals in an 11-1 win over Mercyhurst at the CWPA Western Championship.
For her career, she has totals of 99 goals, 77 assists, and 94 steals.
She was also selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V First Team, as well as the Spring Academic All-Big Ten Team.
