George Washington's Cameron Illes Named September 21 Southern Varsity Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- George Washington University goalie Cameron Illes (Fr., Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) averaged 10.2 saves over five games at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship to earn the September 21 Varsity Southern Division Rookie of the Week award.

The award marks his second Rookie of the Week nod as he previously earned the award on September 7.

His best game of the week came in a narrow 6-5 loss to Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the seventh place game as he notched a school-record tying 19 saves in the Colonials' cause.  In addition, he tacked on 14 savves in a 12-5 victory over Harvard University, while chipping in eight saves and two assists in two quarters of action in a 17-7 win over Connecticut College.

For the week, he finished with 51 saves over 15 quarters with a .593 save percentage, three assists and a pair of steals.
