Bucknell's Brian Barron Named September 28 Varsity Southern Division Rookie of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Bucknell University's Brian Barron (Fr., Oak Park, Ill./Fenwick) tallied two goals, an assist, a field blcok, two steals, a pair of ejections drawn and went five-of-six on sprint chances to earn the September 28 Varsity Southern Division Rookie of the Week award and help the Bison down No. 20 Johns Hopkins University, George Washington University and No. 17 Princeton University at home in Lewisburg.
Against No. 20 Hopkins he tallied a steal with an ejection drawn while going two-of-two on sprints in an 8-5 win over the Blue Jays on September 25. He tacked on a goal, an assist, a field block, a steal and an ejection drawn with two sprint victories on two attempts in a 14-7 victory over George Washington.
He concluded his weekend with a goal and a sprint win on two attempts in a 10-9 victory over No. 17 Princeton.
On the year, he leads the team with 13 sprints won this season while adding nine goals and two assists for the Bison.
