Washington & Jefferson Blanks Salem International 11-0 at Southern Championship

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Senior William Kidston (Pawleys Island, S.C./Northfield Mt. Hermon) made seven saves in goal to record his first career shutout and lead Washington & Jefferson to an 11-0 victory over Salem International on Saturday at the 2009 Southern Division Men's Water Polo Championships hosted at Bucknell University's Kinney Natatorium. 

Senior John Todd (Joppa, Md./Calvert Hall), the Presidents' normal starting goaltender, played offense and netted two goals. 

Nathan Steiner added three goals for the Presidents, while senior Chris Bleuher (New Canaan, Conn./New Cannan) and freshman Joey Weiland (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) both contributed a pair of goals.  Senior Dan Martin (Arendtville, Pa./Biglerville) and freshman Cameron Chaves (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) rounded out the W&J goal scorers.

Eighth-seeded W&J and fifth-seeded George Washington meet at 8:15 pm this evening.  The winner will play for fifth place tomorrow, while the losing team plays Sunday for seventh-place.
