Emory University's Markee Harris Named March 28 Southeast Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Markee Harris (Sr., Babylon, N.Y./Babylon) of Emory University posted 14 goals in a 2-2 weekend for the Eagles to claim the March 28 Southeast Division Player of the Week award.
Competing in the final Southeast Division regular season tournament, hosted by Florida State University, she aided the Eagles in downing the University of Florida "B" (9-2 W) and the University of Georgia (9-1 W) to claim the No. 4 seed for the upcoming Southeast Division Championship on April 16-17 at the University of Florida. In addition, she factored in games versus the University of Florida "A" (11-4 L) and Florida State (17-5 L) as Emory concludes the regular season with a 2-6 regular season division record.
She netted three of her team's four goals against Florida "A", while tacking on five goals against Florida "A" and four more versus Georgia to account for nearly half of the Eagles' scoring against the Gators "B" and Bulldogs.
Facing Florida State in the final game of the weekend, she whipped in a pair of markers.
