Middlebury College's Andrea Tibbetts Named April 11 North Atlantic Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Middlebury College freshman Andrea Tibbetts (Dover, Mass./Phillips Exeter) buried 17 goals over the course of four games to help the Panthers clinch the No. 1 seed for the North Atlantic Division Championship tournament and claim the April 11 North Atlantic Division Player of the Week award.
She opened the weekend of competition at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, by tallying six goals in a 15-1 victory over Bates College, before tossing in five markers versus the host Polar Bears in a 15-2 win. Tibbetts wrapped up the Panthers' regular-season slate of games by tacking on hat-tricks versus both Wellesley College (12-1 W) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (16-1 W) to highlight a Middlebury offense which outscored its opponents 58-5 over the course of the four games.
Middlebury and the rest of the division will return to Bowdoin this weekend for the North Atlantic Division Championship on April 16-17 as the Panthers will seek the program's second consecutive division title.
