CWPA Releases Week 12/April 14 Women's National Collegiate Club Poll
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- California Polytechnic State University continues to hold a grip on the No. 1 ranking in the Women's National Collegiate Club Top 20 Poll as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) released the Week 12/April 14 edition of the rankings.
Ranked No. 1 since the preseason poll following back-to-back-to-back National Collegiate Club Championship titles in 2008, 2009 and 2010, the Mustangs garnered 98 points, two points off an unanimous selection.
The Top Five remains unchanged from the April 7 Poll as the University of Michigan, University of California-Davis, University of California-Los Angeles and University of California-Berkeley remain glued to the No. 2-5 positions, respectively, for another week.
In the remainder of the Top 10, the Ducks of the University of Oregon climb to No. 6, while the University of California-Santa Cruz Banana Slugs slide to No. 7. At No. 8-10, the University of Notre Dame, University of Florida and University of Central Florida hold on for another week.
Arizona State University jumps two spots to move into a tie with the University of Utah at No. 11, while the University of California-San Diego also improves by a pair of slots to take over at No. 13.
In the remainder of the Top 20, Pennsylvania State University and Grand Valley State University slip back to No. 14-15. Middlebury College remains at No. 16, with the University of Arizona, San Diego State University, Texas A&M University and University of Iowa completing the Week 12 Poll.
