University of Michigan's Millicent Brown Named April 18 Big Ten Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Millicent Brown (Jr., Rockford, Mich./Rockford) of the University of Michigan tallied 11 goals over three games to lead the Wolverines to the 2011 Big Ten Division Championship and claim the division's April 18 Player of the Week award.
She ripped home five goals in a 12-3 victory over host Michigan State University to start the tournament, before adding consecutive hat-tricks with three goals against both the University of Iowa (11-3 W) in the semifinals and the University of Illinois (11-5 W) in the title tilt.
The No. 2-nationally ranked Wolverines, which completed the division season with a perfect 11-0 mark (8-0 during the regular season), claimed the program's second consecutive Big Ten Division championship and will next be in action in two weeks at the National Collegiate Club Championship hosted by the University of Notre Dame.
