CWPA Releases 2011 Women's Club All-Conference Team; 197 Student-Athletes Honored by League
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- A total of 197 student-athletes were named All-Conference as the Collegiate Water Polo Association releases the 2011 Women's National Collegiate Club All-Conference Teams.
Voted on by each division's coaches/team contacts based up on nominations from each program, the All-Conference teams highlight at least seven players from each division who excelled in the field of play during the 2011 season.
In addition, the Most Valuable Player and Coach of the Year in each division were announced as selections were voted on by each division's membership with the highest vote recipient earning the award for the 2011 season.
Overall, 100 athletes picked up First Team honors, while 95 were recognized with Second Team accolades, from the CWPA's 14 women's club divisions as a total of 80 schools earned an All-Conference player in 2010, up from 66 institutions in 2010.
