No. 2 University of Michigan Beaches No. 7 University of Florida 5-1 in National Collegiate Club Championship Quarterfinals

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Marley Andrews (So., Hudsonville, Mich.) made 15 saves to earn Player of the Game honors and lead No. 2 University of Michigan to a 5-1 victory over No. 7 University of Florida in the quarterfinals of the 2011 Women's National Collegiate Club Championship at the University of Notre Dame's Rolfs Aquatic Center.

The victory returns the Wolverines to the National Collegiate Club Championship semifinals as Michigan fell to California Polytechnic State University 6-5 in the 2010 championship tilt at the University of Arizona.

This year, the Maize and Blue will need to knock-off No. 3 University of California-Davis to reach another tilte game as the Wolverines and Aggies wil clash in the tournament semifinals at 7:30 p.m. later this evening.

Florida will meet No. 11 Pennsylvania State University at 5:10 p.m. tonight with a spot in the tournament's fifth place game on the line.

Trailing 1-0 following the first period and a goal by the Gators' Sarah Wright (Jr., Oviedo, Fla.) at the 2:50 mark, the Wolverines took command of hte game thanks to their ability to convert on man-up chances.

Anne-Lise Maag (Gr., Menlo Park, Calif.) evened the score with 3:35 left in the second period as she netted a score on an advantage opportunity before Angela Kurdys (Sr., Portage, Mich.) tacked on the eventual game-winning goal at 1:28 during even-strength play.

Jessie Carr (Sr., Palo Alto, Calif.) cushioned the lead with 51 seconds remaining in the first half with the Wolverines' second man-up goal of the contest to make it 3-1.

The margin grew to the 5-1 final through the third and fourth periods as Kate Hazelrigg (So., Rolling Hills, Calif.) connected on a shot at 4:23 of the third period and Maag lofted a ball into the cage with 4:57 on the fourth period clock.

For Florida, Mary Kathryn Atkinson (Sr., Oviedo, Fla.) suffered the loss allowing five goals on nine shots-on-cage.
