Bowdoin College-Wellesley College Game on April 14 Cancelled

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The Bowdoin College-Wellesley College North Atlantic Division game on Saturday, April 14 has been cancelled.

The 9:00 a.m. game was to mark the final regular season contest in the North Atlantic Division to help seed the division championship which was to begin later in the day at noon.  However, as Wellesley is 7-0 and Bowdoin 3-2, with the result to have no outcome on the seeding of the championship, the teams elected to forego the contest and concentrate on the division tournament.

Action will now begin at noon on April 14 as Wellesley plays No. 4 seed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, while the host Polar Bears of Bowdoin face Bates College at 1:10 p.m.

The losers of Game 1 and 2 will meet for third place at 4:00 p.m., with the victors of the early games facing off at 5:15 p.m. with the North Atlantic Division Championship and automatic bid to the National Collegiate Club Championship at Florida State University on the line.

In the history of the division, only MIT has previously captured the title as the Engineers claimed the championship in 2005, 2006 and 2007.  Wellesley, Bowdoin and Bates have never captured a division crown.
