NorCal Tournament

University of California, Berkeley, Calif.
Saturday-Sunday, September 18-19, 2010

*The league tiebreaker rules state: "If the won/loss records of two teams are the same, the team that won in their head-to-head competition is the higher seed. If these teams each beat one another, the goal differential in their games is used to break the tie. If the goal differential in their contests against one another is the same, the total of goals scored against each other is used. If the total of goals scored between the teams is equal, the differential for all common opponents seeded higher is used. If no common opponents are seeded higher, the goal differential against the highest seeded common opponent is used.  As Princeton University and Brown finished with identical 20-vs.-20 goal differentials due to an 11-7 Princeton and a 13-9 Brown win, and with no teams seeded higher, the teams goal differentials against Harvard University breaks the tie.  Princeton defeated Harvard 11-10 and lost 8-7 for no-differential, compared to Brown which fell to Harvard 9-8 in overtime and downed the Crimson 9-7 for a +1 differential.  Due to the differential advantage against Harvard, Brown claims the regular season and championship No. 1 seed; ^Iona College claims the No. 5 seed due to goal differential (+1) against MIT after defeating the Engineers 13-8 and losing 12-8.
