University of Michigan's Cara Reitz Named January 24 Western Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Cara Reitz (Sr., Miami, Fla./Gulliver) of the University of Michigan tallied four goals, five assists and a steal with two kickouts drawn in a 2-2 opening weekend for the No. 8-nationally ranked Wolverines at the Michigan Kick-Off Tournament to earn honors as the January 24 Women's Varsity Western Division Player of the Week. Her best game came against No. 4 UCLA as she registered a goal with two assists in a narrow 6-5 loss to the Bruins.
In additon to her performance versus UCLA, she netted a goal with an assist and a kickout drawn against both No. 15 California State University-Northridge (14-8 W) and No. 1 Stanford University (15-6 L), along with a goal, an assist and steal versus No. 7 San Jose State University (9-7 W).
