University of Michigan's Ryley Plunkett Named January 31 Western Division Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Ryley Plunkett (Sr., Modesto, Calif./Johansen) of the No. 7-ranked University of Michigan Wolverines tallied six goals, five assists and eight steals in a 6-0 weekend for the Maize and Blue at the University of California-Santa Barbara Winter Invitational to garner the January 31 Women's Varsity Western Division Player of the Week award. 

Her best game came versus No. 18 University of California-San Diego as she tallied three goals and three steals in an 11-8 victory.  In addition, she contributed pairs of steals and assists versus No. 12 UC-Santa Barbara (11-10 W OT SD), a goal with an ejection drawn and pairs of steals and assists against No. 10 University of California-Irvine (13-11 W) and an assist versus No. 20 California State University-Bakersfield (15-4 W). 

Facing No. 11 San Diego State University, she posted a steal with two goals, including the game-winner as classmate Alison Mantel (Sr., Miami, Fla./Gulliver) found her at the post with 2:40 left in the fourth period, as the Wolverines improved to 8-2 on the season.
