BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Kelsey Nolan (Fr., San Jose, Calif./Leland) of the No. 7 ranked Wolverines of the University of Michigan posted five goals, four assists, six steals and four drawn kickouts in a 6-0 weekend at the University of California-Santa Barbara Winter Invitational to earn the January 31 Women's Varsity Western Division Rookie of the Week award.
Her best game of the weekend came versus host No. 12-ranked UC-Santa Barbara as she netted pairs of goals and assists with a steal in a 11-10 sudden death overtime victory. She added an assist with a steal and two drawn kickouts versus Concordia University (12-6 W), a goal and a steal versus No. 18 University of California-San Diego (11-8 W) and a goal against No. 10 University of California-Irvine (13-11 W). In addition, she netted two goals with an assist, two steals and two drawn kickouts in a 15-4 victory over No. 20 California State University-Bakersfield, while helping the Wolverines drop No. 11 San Diego State University (12-11 W) to help Michigan improve to 8-2 on the season.
