University of Michigan's Alex Adamson Earns February 14 Western Division Defensive Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- University of Michigan goalie Alex Adamson (So., Coronado, Calif./Coronado) recorded 22 saves in three games at the University of California-San Diego Triton Invitational to earn the February 14 Women's Varsity Western Division Defensive Player of the Week award.
Following a 15-4 victory by the No. 7-ranked Wolverines over No. 20 Marist College, Adamson became only the second Michigan goalie to notch a shut-out as she blanked Long Beach State University (6-0 W) with 11 saves.
In a 10-7 loss to No. 6-ranked Loyola Marymount University, she posted 10 saves, including four on six-on-five chances, before wrapping up the weekend with a save and an assist while earning a no-decision in a 14-12 loss to No. 9 San Diego State University.
