Hartwick College's Charlotte Mensink Named February 21 Western Division Defensive Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Charlotte Mensink (So., Nijerdal, Netherlands) of No. 15-nationally ranked Hartwick College contributed three goals, three assists, eight steals and six field blocks to earn the February 21 Women's Varsity Western Division Defensive Player of the Week award.
Against Iona College, she tallied two assists, six steals and four field blocks as the Hawks rolled to a 20-12 victory against the Gaels. Facing defending Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) champion Marist College, she chipped in two goals, an assist and two field blocks.
A transfer from the University of Utrecht in Holland, Mensink also assisted the Hawks in dispatching the club teams from Dollard Des Ormeaux (Quebec) and Boston University by 17-8 and 13-4 final scores, respectively, to complete a perfect 4-0 weekend at the Marist Invitational.
