LEWISBURG, Pa. - For the second straight game, the Bucknell University women's water polo team fell behind by a large margin (7-2) in the first half and could not mount a second-half comeback as the Bison lost to Brown University, 16-10, Saturday evening in the consolation bracket of the ECAC Championship.
Senior Haley Prickett (Newport Beach, Calif./Corona del Mar), who scored a team-high three goals against the Gaels, again led the Bison offense against the Bears as she found the back of the net twice. The only other Bucknell (4-5) players to register more than one point were Amanda Skonezney (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley), who tallied a pair of assists, and Hallie Kennan (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto), who posted one goal and one assist.
The Bison converted just 3 0f 8 six-on-five opportunities, while Brown (2-5) was 5-for-9, including 4-for-6 in the first half.
Junior goalie Brittany Connell (Montebello, Calif./Montebello) played the second half in cage and limited Brown to just three goals while making five saves. Bucknell outscored the Bears by one goal after intermission.
