Brown University Falls 14-10 to Wagner to Place Sixth at ECAC Championship
LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Brown University women's water polo team finished in sixth place after falling 14-10 to Wagner College in the final day of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship hosted at Bucknell University this weekend.
The Bears got off to a slow start this afternoon as Wagner jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the first quarter and went on to outscore Brown 4-2 in the second to gain a 6-3 lead heading into halftime.
Wagner stayed hot in the third and tallied four goals to Brown's two to extend its lead to 10-5, but the Bears made a late run in the fourth quarter with five goals, but it just wasn't. Wagner posted four goals in the fourth to earn the 14-10 win.
Leading Brown's attack today was Kate Woods with six goals, followed by Joanna Wohlmuth with three and Katharine Booher with one. Sarah Shin combined for two saves in the cage.
