Indiana University's Cassie Wyckoff Named March 7 Western Division Defensive Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Indiana University's Cassie Wyckoff (Jr., Los Altos, Calif./Los Altos) posted 28 saves, two assists and two steals in 96 minutes of work to earn the March 7 Women's Varsity Western Division Defensive Player of the Week award.
She recorded three complete games for the No. 17-nationally ranked Hoosiers as Indiana defeated No. 20 University of Maryland (13-8 W), Marist College (13-2 W) and host Princeton University (9-8 W) to improve to 7-8 on the season.
Against Princeton in a narrow one-goal victory she notched six saves and a steal, before recording an eight save outing with two assists and a steal in a victory over Marist.
She wrapped up the weekend with a season-high 14 saves in a five goal victory over the No. 20 Terrapins to mark Wyckoff's sixth double-digit save performance of the 2011 season.
To date, she has 127 saves in 486 minutes of competition this season to raise her career totals to 531 saves in 1,771 minutes.
