Princeton University's Katie Rigler Named March 14 Southern Division Player & Rookie of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Princeton University's Katie Rigler (Fr., Fullerton, Calif./Rosary) led the Tigers with 10 goals and four assists at the San Diego State University Aztec Invitational to earn the March 14 Women's Varsity Southern Division Player and Rookie of the Week awards.
The accolades mark her second and third of the season as she previously earned a share of the February 28 Southern Division Rookie of the Week award.
Back in her home state, she tallied arguably her best game of the season with five goals, three assists, two steals and three ejections drawn in a 13-12 overtime victory against No. 18-nationally ranked the University of California-San Diego. She chipped in a pair of goals with an ejection drawn versus California State University-Bakersfield (8-7 W), while tacking on a goal and an ejection drawn in a loss to No. 4 the University of Hawaii (6-4 L). In addition, she contributed pairs of goals and steals with four ejections drawn and an assist in a 9-8 loss to No. 18 San Jose State University.
She is the second Princeton athlete to pick up the Women's Southern Division Player of the Week title this season as Brittany Zwirner (So., Santa Ana, Calif./Foothill) garnered a nod on February 14.
