Bucknell University Ends California Trip with 10-7 Win Over Cal State-San Bernardino
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Kandis Canonica scored three goals and Hallie Kennan tallied a team-high four points with one goal and three assists, leading Bucknell University to a 10-7 win over California State University-San Bernardino. The win helped the Bison finish 4-3 on their seven-game Spring Break trip to California.
Canonica was the only Bucknell player to net more than one goal as seven other players registered one apiece.
The Bison (9-8) won their fifth game in a row against unranked opponents. They led 3-1 at the end of the first quarter and held a three-goal advantage (6-3) at halftime. Bucknell is now 5-3 all-time against Cal State San Bernardino (9-15) and has won four in a row in the series.
The Bison tallied 10 steals in the contest with Julianne Valdes (Miami, Fla./Gulliver Prep), Haley Prickett (Newport Beach, Calif./Corona del Mar) and Rena Heim (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) registering two apiece. Bucknell also held a distinct advantage in six-on-five opportunities, drawing 10 ejections, compared to just four for the Coyotes.
Goalies Brittany Connell (Montebello, Calif./Montebello) and Heim each recorded four saves playing 16 minutes apiece in net.
