Gannon University Tops Chatham, 20-13, at PSU-Behrend Invitational
ERIE, Pa. -- Gannon University wrapped up a perfect 3-0 weekend at the Penn State-Behrend Invitational with a 20-13 win over Chatham University.
The Lady Knights jumped out to a 5-2 lead after the first quarter before adding three goals in the second to hold an 8-4 lead at the half.
Gannon broke open the game in the third quarter with a 6-2 advantage in scoring. The fourth quarter featured a total of 13 goals as the Cougars scored seven times in the final eight minutes. However, Gannon netted six goals, earning the 20-13 win.
Tricia Gajewski (Fairview, Pa./Fairview) scored a season-high five goals in the win. Entering the weekend, the freshman had tallied just three scores this season.
Colleen Harriger (Erie, Pa./McDowell) and Emily Sullivan (Wheeling, Ill./Wheeling) each scored three goals. Molly Andrews (Tustin, Calif./Tustin) and Katelyn Jacobs (Brookfield, Ill./Lyons Township) both found the back of the net twice. A total of 10 Lady Knights scored in the win. Libbie Guina (Houston, Texas/Clear Brook) had seven blocks in goal.
