Charlotte Schou

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- George Washington University's Charlotte Schou (Sr., Miami, Fla./Miami Country Day) amassed 31 saves and five assists during a 2-1 weekend to earn the March 28 Women's Varsity Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week award.

Facing Siena College (13-11 L), Villanova University (13-5 W) and Mercyhurst College (12-4 W) over the weekend at home in the Colonials Invitational, Schou moved into a tie for second place all-time at GW in saves with 709 career blocks, just 29 shy of Julie Jacoby's career mark of 738.

Her best game of invitational came versus Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) league foe Mercyhurst as she recorded 18 saves, including nine on man-advantage shots, and dished out two assists in an eight-goal victory.

The award marks the fourth weekly honor from the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) during Schou's career as she earned the March 29 and April 5 Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week awards last season in addition to garnering honors as the February 21 Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week last month.
