Harvard University's Shayna Price Named April 4 Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Harvard University's Shayna Price (Fr., Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) recorded five steals to go along with three goals and two assists to garner the April 4 Women's Varsity Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week award.
She led the Crimson to a 2-0 record in a home-doubleheader with victotries over Connecticut College (19-2 W) and Marist College (13-12 OT W) to raise her season statistics to 31 goals, 15 assists and 36 steals.
Against the Camels of Connecticut College, she tied for the team lead in goals with a hat-trick as 11 Crimson players found the back of the net in a 17-goal victory. Price also assisted on a pair of markers to factor in five of Harvard's 19 goals. Her four steals in the game lead all Harvard players, as the Crimson totaled 20 takeaways in the contest.
Facing defending Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) champion Marist in the nightcap, she assisted on two goals and tallied another steal in the Crimson's 13-12 overtime victory against the Red Foxes.
