No. 10 Carthage College Stymies No. 9 Grove City and Wheaton (Ill.)

KENOSHA, Wisc. -- No. 10-nationally ranked Carthage College defeated Wheaton College (Ill.), 10-3, and No. 9 Grove City College, 10-7 margin, at home in the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wisc. to take  control of the CWPA Division III title race.

In the win over Wheaton (Ill.), goalkeeper Christine Menzenberger (Sr., Mokena, Ill./Frankfort—Lincoln-Way East) led the way with eight saves, three goals-against, a steal and an assist. Mari Paraskevopoulos (Jr., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey) collected four goals with an assist and a steal. Kaitlin Duke (Sr., Schaumburg, Ill./Hoffman Estates-Conant), Kimmy Genian (Sr., Gurnee, Ill./Highland Park) and Hillary Veselik (Fr., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South) each had two goals and two assists, with Veselik adding five steals.

In the Grove City contest, Menzenberger had 10 saves and an assist. Genian collected four goals with three assists and five drawn kick outs, and Duke added two goals with three steals.
