KENOSHA, Wisc. -- The Wheaton College women's water polo team went 2-1 on Day Two of the Carthage College CWPA Division III Regional. The Thunder improve to 8-11.
The first match saw Wheaton defeat Chatham University by a 12-8 margin. The Thunder led 7-4 at the half and kept its lead the rest of the way. The trio of Emily Bellfi, Linley Sullivan and Heather Crockett all netted three goals each. Morgan Sorenson tallied two goals and Jessica McGee added one.
The Thunder also recorded an important 8-3 win against Washington & Jefferson College. Crockett was once again the leading scorer with three goals while Sorenson tallied two. Caroline Hannema, Sullivan and McGee each registered one goal.
The final match of the day ended with a 12-4 loss to Grove City College. The match was a defensive affair early as the score was only 1-0 at the half, but the Wolverines got their offense rolling in the second half. Sorenson accounted for two of Wheaton's goals while McGee and Crockett scored the others.
