KENOSHA, Wisc. -- The Washington & Jefferson College women's water polo team earned a 10-8 victory over Chatham University, but fell 13-3 to host Carthage College on its final day in Wisconsin.
In the victory over the Cougars, W&J (7-6) received three goals from senior Katie Wieber (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) and a pair from freshman Margot Wummer (Havertown, Pa./Germantown Academy). Seniors Caitlin Brown (Milford, Ohio/Milford) and Kate Van Schaik (Arnold, Md./St. Mary’s), junior Sarah Cull (Libertyville, Ill/Libertyville) and freshman Dana Wieber (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) all scored once for W&J against Chatham.
Sophomore goalkeeper McKenzie Graf (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) made 14 saves.
Cull, Wummer and Van Schaik each scored a goal a piece in W&J’s loss to Carthage in its finale. The Presidents couldn’t overcome a 7-2 halftime deficit. Graf made eight saves in the losing effort.
