George Washington University's Rachael Bentley Named April 11 Southern Division Rookie of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- George Washington University's Rachael Bentley (Fr., Riverside, Calif./Riverside Poly) totaled four goals, five ejections drawn and a team-leading eight assists in a pair of games at Bucknell Univeristy against No. 6-ranked University of Michigan and the host Bison to earn the April 11 Women's Varsity Southern Division Rookie of the Week award.
The highlight of the weekend came in an 11-9 victory over Western Division foe Bucknell as she netted a pair of goals and six assists to factor in all but three of the Colonials' tallies in the two goal victory. In addition, she added three ejections drawn to stiffle the Bison offense and set-up the GW scorers.
Facing the Top 10 ranked Wolverines of Michigan, she converted on her two shot attempts, handed out a pair of assists and drew a pair of ejections in a 15-5 loss to remain second in points (46) and assists (22) this season for George Washington.
The honor marks Bentley's second of the season as she previously earned the February 12 Southern Division Rookie of the Week nod.
