SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The No. 6-ranked University of Michigan water polo team knocked off No. 20 University of California-San Diego, 11-7, at Canyonview Aquatic Center.

Sophomore Alex Adamson (Coronado, Calif./Coronado) and junior Morgan Turner (Mission Viejo, Calif./Trabuco Hills) split time in the cage, making five saves apiece. Seniors Cara Reitz (Miami, Fla./Gulliver) and Lauren Orth (Poway, Calif./Poway) scored three goals each, and classmate Alison Mantel (Miami, Fla./Gulliver) pulled four steals in the contest.

After battling to a 3-3 deadlock after one period, U-M took the lead for good in the second frame. Leading 6-4 at intermission, the Wolverines outscored UCSD 5-3 in the second half for the 11-7 victory.
