Macalester College's Chloe Kaulas Claims May 2 Division III Defensive Player of the Week Honors

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Macalester College's Chloe Kaulas (Fr., Chicago, Ill./Latin School) made a tournament high 48 saves over four games to lead the Scots to a fourth place finish at home during the Division III Eastern Championship.  For her performance, she claims honors as the May 2 Division III Defensive Player of the Week.

An All-Division III Eastern Championship First Team selection, she opened the tournament with nine saves versus Pennsylvania State University-Behrend (9-3 W) for the No. 9 seed Scots, before registering 12 saves in an 11-10 upset of No. 8-nationally ranked and No. 1 tournament seed Carthage College (11-10 W) to advance to the tournament semifinals.

In a semifinal game versus Washington & Jefferson College, Kaulas stopped 16 shots in a 6-3 loss to Washington & Jefferson College.  She concluded the weekend with 11 saves in an 8-1 loss to Wheaton College in the tournament third place game as Macalester placed fourth in the nine-team field.
