University of Maryland's Allison Campbell Named May 2 Southern Division Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Allison Campbell (So., Maple Ridge, B.C./Maple Ridge Secondary School ) of No. 19-nationally ranked the University of Maryland posted six goals over the course of three games during the 2011 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) CWPA Eastern Championship at Indiana University to garner the May 2 Women's Varsity Southern Division Player of the Week award.

The accolode marks the third weekly award presented to the 2011 Southern Division Player of the Year, All-Southern Division and All-Eastern Championship first team selection this season by the league office as she previously garnered notice as the March 7 and April 18 Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week.

At the Eastern Championship, she began play with a hat-trick in a 9-8 overtime victory against archnemesis No. 20-ranked Princeton University before tacking on a pair of markers in an 11-6 semifinal loss to No. 6-ranked the University of Michigan.

In the third place game, she added a goal as the Terrapins upset No. 12-ranked Hartwick College 7-6.
