Lauren Brunner Receives Princeton University Women's Water Polo Tiger Award

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Senior Lauren Brunner (Sacramento, Calif./St. Francis) of the Princeton University women's water polo team was named the recipient of the team's Friends of Princeton Water Polo Tiger Award.

"This is a wonderful award for Lauren," says Princeton head coach Luis Nicolao. " It is great that her teammates recognized all she has given to the team. I thank her and all her senior classmates for all they have given our program over the past four years."

The Tiger Award is presented annually to the individual who contributed most in play, sportsmanship and dedication to the Princeton University women's water polo team. The award was first presented in 2000 and recent winners have included Natalie Kim (2008), Liz Dilday (2009) and Helen Meigs (2010).

A two-time Associatiton of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) and Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Scholar-Athlete Team member, Brunner is a four-year letterwinner for the Tigers and scored 138 goals in her career to rank seventh all-time at Princeton in scoring. Her 63 career assists also rank seventh at Princeton. Brunner was the 2008 CWPA Southern Division Rookie of the Year and earned All-South honors three times in her career.
