PRINCETON, N.J. -- Princeton University rising women's water polo seniors Kristen Ward (Sacramento, Calif./St. Francis) and Audrey Zak (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad) were named team co-captains for the 2012 season. The pair will lead a group of 11 returning players and six incoming players as Princeton looks to build upon 2011's 18-win season.
Ward was Princeton's starting goalkeeper for the third straight season and brought home her third All-Southern honor, being named to the second team for the second time. Ward collected double-figure wins for the third time this past season and ranks third all-time in saves at Princeton. Zak played in all 29 games for the Tigers this past season and scored 12 goals while adding a career-best 14 assists. Zak now has scored 39 goals in 86 career games while at Princeton.
The 2010 Tigers finished the season with an 18-11 record while finishing second in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southern Division and fifth at the CWPA Eastern Championship hosted by Indiana University.
