Brown University Adds Three Men's Recruits for Class of 2015
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Brown University head men water polo coach Felix Mercado has announced the addition of three newcomers to the 2011-12 men's water polo team. Joining the men's squad will be Henry Fox, Nick Deaver and Andrew Brown.
"I'm really excited about this incoming class as they will add a lot of strength and depth to the men's roster," said Mercado. "I am looking forward to the start of the season and working with the team. I am expecting great things for the future of Brown water polo."
Hometown: Mercer Island, Wash.
High School: Lakeside High School
Henry Fox earned Washington First Team All-State 2008, 2009, 2010 honors and was Washington State tourney MVP in both 2008 and 2010. Named a team captain 2010. Fox was selected First Team All-Tournament, Greater San Diego Tournament in 2008 and 2010 and was All-Tournament Honorable Mention, 2008 USA Jr. Olympics. Was also a captain of Lakeside School Swim Team, 2010-2011 and was the first leg on Washington state champion 200 free and 400 free relays. Fox participated on Mercer Island's varsity water polo squad for four years and helped guide his team to state championships all four years. Also, helped Pacific Northwest United Water Polo Club to 11th place, 2009 USA Junior Olympics, 11th place 2010 USA Club Championships.
Hometown: Orinda, Calif.
High School: Miramonte High School
Nick Deaver, a 6'1" 190lbs. right-handed utility player from Orinda, California was a four-year varsity water polo player and swimmer. In his senior year at Miramonte, Nick was selected onto the First Team All North Coast Section and Fifth Team All-America. Nick led his team to a 2009 Division I North Coast Section Championship and a runner up finish in 2010. Nick was chosen to attend the Olympic Development national selection camp in 2010. He was a member of 2010 fourth place Lamorinda 18U Junior Olympics team. Nick was also a high school swimming All-America in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 and was a senior National Swimming Championships qualifier.

High School: Lyons Township
Andrew Brown was a two-year varsity starter at Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, IL, and was voted a team captain during his senior year. Earned First Team All-Sectional accolades as a junior and senior, voted First Team All-State as a Senior in 2011 by the coaches as the top goalie in the state of Illinois. During his junior year, finished as Conference and Sectional Runners-Up, and during his senior year, he led his team to a 29-3 record as the winningest team in school history.
