Brown University's Wohlmuth & Woods Earn AWCPC All-America Water Polo Honors
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Brown University senior two-meter defender Joanna Wohlmuth (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa) and freshman attacker Kate Woods (La Jolla, Calif./La Jolla) each earned Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Honorable Mention All-America honors.
Wohlmuth, a Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) All-South second team selection, ended her senior season with 40 goals and a team-high 100 ejections drawn. Last year, she earned All-North first team honors after scoring 36 goals and leading the team with 72 ejections drawn.
Woods had a stellar rookie season for the Bears pouring in 100 goals, the most any freshman has ever scored in a single season. Woods was a six-time weekly award winner in the CWPA during the 2011 campaign, as she notched the April 4 and April 25 Southern Division Player of the Week prizes, along with the Feb. 28, March 28, April 25 Southern Division Rookie of the Week awards.
