Princeton's Wenzlau Named September 13 CWPA Southern Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Princeton University's Tim Wenzlau (So., Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) tallied 12 goals and two assists in leading the Tigers to a 3-1 record at the Princeton Invitational to earn the September 13 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southern Division Player of the Week award. He scored five goals in victories over both No. 13 Santa Clara University and Harvard University.
He opened the invitational with an assist in an 11-5 loss to No. 17 California Baptist University, before posting five goals on seven shots with pairs of steals and ejections drawn in an 11-9 upset of No. 13 Santa Clara University for the No. 18 ranked Tigers.
Following the victory over Santa Clara, he tacked on two goals off three shots with two ejections drawn during a 9-5 victory over Fordham University before wrapping up the weekend with five goals on seven shots with an assist and a steal in a 14-9 win over Harvard University.
