Brown Sinks Connecticut College 19-2
NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Led by sophomore Ryan Gladych's four goals, the Brown University men's water polo team cruised to a 19-2 victory over Connecticut College on Friday night in Lott Natatorium.
The Bears jumped out to a 5-0 lead in just the first eight minutes, and secured a 10-1 lead after the second quarter. Brown went on to outscore Connecticut College 5-1 in the third and then 4-0 in the fourth to extend its lead to 19-2 to win the game.
Brown saw all of its freshman contribute to the scoring tonight, as Steven Chizen, Grant Villeneuve and Eric Robb each added three goals apiece, while James McNamara and Chris Culin netted two. Also scoring was Marcus Gartner and Brandon Yoshimura with one each.
Freshman Walker Shockley led the defense this evening with 10 saves in the cage.
