Iona's Hill Named September 27 Northern Division Rookie of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Iona College goalie Stefen Hill (Fr., Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) made 42 saves over the course of three games, including a pair of 15+ stops, to lead the Gaels to a 1-2 record in conference play and earn the September 27 Northern Division Rookie of the Week award.
Facing No. 12 St. Francis College (N.Y.) at home, he turned aside 15 shots in a 12-9 loss to the Terriers in a midweek game in New Rochelle. Later in the week in Cambridge, Mass., he made nine saves in an 11-8 loss to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on the heels of an 18 save, sudden death four-overtime victory over Harvard University (11-10 W OT SD).
