Johns Hopkins University's Whittam Named November 1 Southern Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Alex Whittam (So., Hillsborough, Calif./Sacred Heart Prep) of Johns Hopkins University led the Blue Jays to a 2-1 week in league play with six goals, three assists and six steals to earn the November 1 Southern Division Player of the Week award and help JHU clinch the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Southern Division Championship at the United States Naval Academy.
On Wednesday at George Washington University, he tallied pairs of goals, assists and steals as JHU rolled to an 11-8 victory over the Colonials. He continued his dominance later in the week at the United States Naval Academy scoring a pair of goals to go along with three steals in a 16-7 loss to the No. 15-ranked Midshipmen. In the nightcap at Navy against George Washington, he scored two goals, added an assist and tacked on a steal with an ejection drawn in a 15-9 victory as the Blue Jays clinched the No. 3 position in the Southern Division-East Region and the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Southern Division Championship at Navy this weekend.
