St. Francis Controls Connecticut College 22-3 in Northern Division Championship Opening Round
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.
-- The St. Francis College men's water polo team advanced
to the next round of the 2010 Northern Division Championship at the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology after defeating Connecticut
College, 22-3 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Freshman Bosko Stankovic paved the way for the
Terriers with five goals followed by a four goal performance from
fellow classmate Andrew Reed. Not to be outdone, sophomore
Josip Jurcevic added three goals with junior Tamas
Toth scored twice. Rounding out the goal
scoring for St. Francis were Marko
Gencic, Filip Sasic, Guram
Nozadze and Marko Dzigurski.
Head Coach Igor Samardzija used both goalkeepers
in the contest as senior Nikola Djuric recorded
seven saves, a steal and a assist while freshman Igor
Mladenovic stopped six shots and recorded two assists.
